Lynda Wiesmeier: The ’80s Star Who Became a Nostalgic Icon
Lynda Ann Wiesmeier was a blonde bombshell who rose to fame as Playboy’s July 1982 Playmate. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1963, she later moved to Los Angeles and balanced modeling, acting, and office work.
She appeared in several films during the 1980s, including Real Genius, Teen Wolf, Malibu Express, and R.S.V.P. Her final film was the 1987 zombie horror movie Evil Town, where she played Dianne alongside Dean Jagger.
Although the movie was poorly received, one scene featuring Wiesmeier later attracted attention online—not because of the film itself, but because of its unmistakable 1980s fashion and atmosphere. Posing beside a Dodge, Wiesmeier and co-star Scott Hunter sported colorful, retro outfits that perfectly captured the bold style of the decade.
After leaving Hollywood, Wiesmeier focused on family life and later worked as a records manager in Louisiana. She also continued connecting with fans through conventions and autograph appearances.
Sadly, Lynda Wiesmeier died in December 2012 at the age of 49 after battling a brain tumor.
Today, that simple image from Evil Town continues to resonate with fans—not just as a memory of Lynda, but as a nostalgic snapshot of a bygone ’80s era.
