Six weeks after my miscarriage, I was still struggling to recognize my own body and find my footing again. Then, just days before my sister-in-law Brianna’s bachelorette party, my husband Marcus and I accidentally overheard a conversation that changed everything.<\/p>\n
Brianna wasn’t inviting me to celebrate. She was inviting me to humiliate me.<\/p>\n
Laughing with a friend, she joked that I looked “like a whale” and admitted she had chosen a water park because she assumed I would be too embarrassed to attend. Standing outside her apartment, Marcus recorded the conversation in stunned silence.<\/p>\n
On the morning of the party, I was ready to stay home. But Marcus handed me a new swimsuit and told me something I desperately needed to hear.<\/p>\n
